  • Remove all pipes to storage for cleaning
  • Pack trumpet for shipping
  • Pack Quintade for shipping, make rubbing of 61 note action
  • Remove all chest actions, pack for shipping
  • Remove all wind system parts for releathering
  • Clean windchest, replace gaskets as required
  • Remove Zimbel toeboard for shipping
  • Install new felt in mufflers
  • Install new felt on Rohrflute caps
  • Install new cabling on all magnet contact strips
  • Install all new and rebuilt parts and pipes, regulate actions and tune

Swell:

Pedal:

  • Re-enforce racking to hold pipes straight

  • Install new 4 manual keyboards, ivory resin naturals with ebony sharps, with piston rails

Blower:

  • Remove old blower and discard, releather static regulator, install new blower provided by Casavant

Asbury to provide all dedicated AC power connections for power supplies in console, organ chamber and blower and will remove AC wiring attached to organ chests and provide new fluorescent lighting in Swell box and under Great chest. The church is to provide electrical disconnections for old blower and connections for the new blower.

 

 

 

 

 

Great:

  • The Quintade 16’ shall be rescaled by one pipe and revoiced as a Bordon 16’. New toeboards and stays shall be provided. The canisters shall be refelted.
  • A new Tierce 1-3/5’, 61 pipes with toeboard shall be installed in place of the Cymbel IV.
  • The Trompete 8’ shall be repaired as needed and revoiced with new shallots and tongues in order to achieve chorus reed qualities. The tuning scrolls shall be retained.

Swell:

  • A new 5-stop pitman windchest with primaries and schwimmer shall be provided for the existing Erzahler 8’, Erzahler Celeste 8’, and Vox Humana 8’ along with new Principal 4’ and Sharp Mixture III (1’). Walker speakers to be relocated.
  • The new windchest shall be provided with unit action for the Erzahler 8’ and Erzahler Celeste 8’. The Erzahler 8’ shall be re-mitered as needed and provided with new stays.
  • A new Principal 4’, 61 pipes shall be provided.
  • The existing Principal 2’ shall be relocated on a new toeboard on the Sesquialtera II action.
  • A new Grave Mixture III 2’, 183 pipes with toeboard shall be installed in place of the Sesquialtera II and Principal 1’
  • A new Sharp Mixture III 1’, 183 pipes with toeboard shall be provided.
  • The existing Oboe 8’ shall be repaired as needed and revoiced with new tongues in the Builder’s workshops.
  • The existing Vox Humana 8’ shall be repaired as needed and revoiced with new tongues in the Builder’s workshops.

Positiv:

  • A new Cromorne 8’, 61 pipes with toeboard and stays shall be installed in place of the Krummhorn 8’.

Solo:

  • The existing Bombarde 16’-8’-4’ (by Moller) shall be repaired as needed and revoiced with new tongues in the Builder’s workshops.

Pedal:

  • The existing Posuane 16’ shall be repaired as needed and revoiced with new shallots and tongues in the Builder’s workshops.
  • The existing Trompette 8’ shall be repaired as needed and revoiced with new shallots and tongues in the Builder’s workshops
  • A new Clairon 4’, 32 pipes with toeboard and stays shall be installed in place of the Schalmei 4’

Other:

  • The exposed zinc pipes shall be relacquered in the Builder’s workshop.

Windchests and Accessories:

  • The existing Casavant windchests (pouchboards, primaries, stop actions, and offset actions) shall be releathered.
  • Two new tremulants shall be provided.
  • A new blower contained in a sound-absorbing enclosure that may be disassembled, along with a static reservoir, shall be provided for the entire organ.
  • In order to assure wind stability to the enlarged Swell and Pedal divisions, the existing main Swell and Pedal windchests shall be provided with new schwimmers. The schwimmer box shall be replaced with a new reservoir.
  • A new reservoir and windtrunks shall be provided for the Pedal Subbass 16’, Bordun 16’, and Octav8’ offset notes.

Expression:

  • The original Casavant 16-stage expression motor shall be rebuilt in the Builder’s workshop.
  • The expression shutters shall be rebuilt with neoprene gaskets for greater effectiveness.
  • Necessary expression linkage, etc. shall be provided to reconnect the original expression shades to the motor.

Tonal Work:

  • Once re-installation is completed, two Casavant voicers shall tonal finish the new stops, re-regulate the existing stops, correct voicing irregularities and tune the organ. A maximum period of twelve days is included for tonal work.

Projected Schedule:

  • Removal of organ by David M. Storey, Inc. after Easter 2009 and appropriate parts shipped to the Baltimore or St. Hyacinthe factories.
  • New and refurbished parts ready for shipment back to Asbury Church, September 2009
  • Reinstallation on site in October 2009
