The Asbury Casavant Pipe Organ Undergoes Restoration

By Robert E. Young
Director of Music Ministries

The button to the left "Casavant Organ" is an excellent history of the Asbury Casavant Pipe Organ from its conception to present. You will enjoy that history. What follows is simply a written description of the process in our journey towards refurbishing our pipe organ. I have written it because people are frequently asking me about the organ. I am in hopes this will help people understand. This is not a formal, legal document approved by God or Country, it is simply an attempt to help those that want to know, to understand more clearly about the organ at Asbury. I am sure it will continue to change as things progress. My prayer is that God will be with us as we journey this path towards restoration of this fine instrument. These pages are in four parts. Just click on the title that interests you.

Part I: Our Journey Towards Realization. This is a short historical accounting of the process used in realizing exactly what needed to be fixed with the organ, who advised us, and the companies that were selected to do the work.

Part II: Exactly What is Going to Be Done? This is an exact listing of the elements of the organ that will be refurbished, restored, discarded, replaced, etc.

Part III: The Next Step. A short explaination of who is handling the transaction, organizing the fund raising, etc.

Part IV: Questions Frequently Asked. Is an attempt at answering the most commonly asked questions concerning the organ.
