Welcome to ADULT BELL MINISTRIES

In the spring of 2003, the Dorcas Circle was completing a year's study of ministries, with each month highlighting a different ministry. In that March Sharon Birch visited this circle to share the different aspects of the bell and chime ministry. From this presentation 12 women expressed the desire to begin a senior chime choir. Within a few weeks they began their rehearsals and rang for the first time in worship in May 2003.

Asbury offers two opportunities for adults desiring to fellowship
and minister through the ringing of bells and chimes.

Chiming Belles have grown spiritually and musically together, and continue to share their love and faith in all worship services. They ring approximately twice a month.

This is a very special group of ladies that share a magical fellowship and desire to learn.
Jubilate participates in all worship services, ringing approximately twice a month. For the past 15 years, Jubilate has shared their Christmas music at the annual Whitehaven Christmas Service which concludes with a Christmas dinner.

Raleigh Ringers

Jubilate Bells began in 1989 under the direction of Taylor Harvey, with eight women from the Koinonia Circle. Ed Gillenardo directed the group for one year in 1995, with Sharon Birch assuming leadership for the ensemble in 1996. Under Sharon's direction the ensemble has grown to its present 15 members and incorporates ringers from college through midlifers.
