Summer Service Project
Asbury Summer Service Project
This summer, Asbury’s youth are taking the lead on monthly deliveries for Salisbury Urban Ministries (SUM), but this isn't just for the youth!
We are excited to serve our community and need adults to join us.
Deliveries take place once a month from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on:
June 16
July 21
August 18
If you would like to serve alongside our youth, please contact Suzy Creel for more information. All participants must be 16 years of age or older.
Please prayerfully consider being part of this ministry opportunity. Your time and willingness to serve help support the important work SUM does for our neighbors in need, while also encouraging our youth as they put their faith into action.
We hope you'll join us!
Reader Training
If you’re interested in - or already have been - reading scripture in our worship services, this is for you!
We’ll be having Reader Training from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM on Sunday, August 23.
Nursery care is available.
We’d love to expand our volunteer pool for this ministry!
HOPP - Youth Service Opportunity
The Harvest Outreach People Project (HOPP) helps provide access to fresh fruit for families across Delaware and parts of Maryland.
Asbury youth helped out with their Pack & Pray program last month, and we’re back to it for August!
Pack & Pray is a hands-on volunteer opportunity where participants help pack fresh produce for distribution to families throughout the community. No experience is necessary, and our team will provide all instructions and guidance when your group arrives.
We will meet in the Asbury parking lot at 7:45 AM, drive up to Seaford to help pack the bags, have lunch with the group and return home by 2:15 PM.
Location: Grace Seaford Church 805 Atlanta Rd, Seaford, DE 19973
Greeter & Usher Training
If you’ve ever wanted to learn more about being a Greeter or Usher for our worship services - this training is for you!
We’ll be having Greeter & Usher training from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM on August 30th.
Nursery care is available.
Greeters and Ushers alike are the first faces most people see as they come to a worship service at Asbury.
They are the first step of hospitality! A smile, a friendly greeting, and a helping hand can all be found.
Come learn more about this wonderful ministry.
Puppets for Christ - Orientation Meeting
Do you love the spotlight?
Maybe you'd rather be backstage?
...What if we told you there's a way to have the best of BOTH worlds?
All youth in grades 6 - 12 are invited to join Asbury's Puppets for Christ!
This ministry has been a part of Asbury for decades and offers fun for all those involved as we spread the word through dynamic puppet shows.
We perform two main all-blacklight shows at Asbury a year as well as a few smaller shows locally.
We practice on Mondays in Asbury’s Fellowship Hall.
We are hosting a special orientation night for aspiring puppeteers on Monday, August 31st, at 7:00 PM in the Library (Rm 102).
It’s essential for a parent to accompany all youth puppeteers during the orientation.
If you wish to join us but are unable to attend, please inform Amy by Monday, September 7th.
Our first puppet practice is set for Monday, September 14th, from 6:30-7:45 in the Fellowship Hall—make sure to be registered and prepared by that date!
Middle and High School youth—don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity; we can’t wait to see you there!
Reach out to Amy Cropper at 410-726-2847 or email puppetboss@comcast.net if you're interested.

Adults, this is your chance to show the kids you've still got it.
Kids, this is your chance to discover your parents may not.
Please remember to bring a towel and your sweet tooth, as we will have s'mores afterwards.
