Apply to be Asbury’s next
Director of Traditional Music Ministries
& Organist
A Message from Our Pastor
At Asbury UMC, we believe music is a vital language for spiritual depth, community connection, and reflecting God's inclusive love. We are deeply committed to sustaining a robust music ministry and supporting a Director of Traditional Music Ministry & Organist who shares our passion for creative expression.
Asbury has a long history of traditional music. This position will help lead our 8 & 11 am worship services by incorporating sacred music with our written liturgy and sermon themes. Our choirs celebrate music with people of all ages, from our youngest 3-year-old musicians to our most seasoned Chancel Choir members.
Our commitment to music extends into the community and calendar with special events that welcome everyone. We host seasonal concerts and feature guest musicians who challenge and inspire us. Special services, such as Advent and Lenten programs, offer moments of deep reflection. We proudly embrace music as a way to bring our community together.
The people of Asbury UMC are enthusiastically invested in quality music that inspires action and reflection. We are seeking a Director of Traditional Music who is a collaborator, a creative visionary, and an accomplished musician, someone who will use our ample resources to grow a music ministry that speaks powerfully to the mission of our church.
I am eager to begin a partnership with you as the next Director of Traditional Music at Asbury UMC.
Grace + Peace,
Pastor Chelsea Spyres
